How we list firms

Every firm goes through the same test. Nobody can pay to pass it, and buying anything from us would never change the result.

The listing test

A firm is listed if it meets all three of these:

  1. A Florida lawyer. At least one lawyer is eligible to practise in Florida, according to the Florida Bar's member search.
  2. A Florida office. The firm has an office in Florida, and we show its town or county.
  3. Elder law work. The Florida Bar lists one of its lawyers as Board Certified in elder law, or the firm's own website offers elder law, Medicaid or long-term care planning, or guardianship.

Firms that only offer wills and trusts, probate, special needs planning, veterans' benefits or nursing home claims do not meet the third part by themselves. A firm that passes can still show those services on its listing.

What we show

We show each firm's name, address, phone number and website, and the services it says it offers. We do not show star ratings or review counts. We say "Board Certified" only where the Florida Bar confirms it.

Order and payment

Firms appear alphabetically. This is not a ranking, and a listing is not a recommendation, an endorsement or a referral. A basic listing is free. Any paid listing, such as a premium listing, is clearly labelled, and paying never changes whether a firm passes the test.

Mistakes and omissions

A good firm can be missed, for example if its website does not describe its work. If your firm should be here, or something is wrong, tell us.
